Phones, photos, and how not to steal the room

Ask first. Then take fewer pictures than you think. The day is the souvenir.

Hosts can feel a camera before they see it. A someday day fails when the guest is directing a shoot. A pop party thins out when everyone is watching a screen of the same room.

Default

Phone in a bag until the host says otherwise. If they invite a picture at the end, take one, not forty. Do not post staff faces, other guests, or ticketed recipes without a yes.

Never

  • Flash on a pass.
  • Stories that tag a location while the night is still private.
  • “Quick content” as your why. That is a media request, not a guest application.

If you are a photographer

Say so only when the listing asks for one. Otherwise you are a guest who happens to own a camera. Be the guest.

Apply on experiences as a person who can keep a secret the room is still living.
